Rose Marie Daugherty, age 84 of Lake City, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born December 22, 1927 in Briceville, TN to the late Hudson and Rachel Phillips Inman. Rose enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and loved caring for people. William Darryl Ross, age 73, of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. A graduate of Asbury College & Seminary with a Masters in Divinity; he was a certified pastoral counselor; a graduate of UT Chattanooga with a Masters in Education and a US Airforce veteran with four years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & friend. He was current pastor at St. Paul United Methodist Church East in Knoxville. He served 48 years as a United Methodist Minister, having served in LaFollette, Johnson City, Greenville, Cleveland and Chattanooga, and Knoxville.

Thelma Heil
Thelma Heil, 87, of Middleton, Idaho, passed away on Monday, November 19th. She was born on October 26, 1925 in LaFollette, Tennessee to Laura and Dave Davis. After graduating from high school in LaFollette, Thelma attended Belmont College in Nashville, TN, where she received her B.A. in Art. During World War II, she worked at the Oak Ridge Laboratory.
Thelma is survived by two brothers: R.L. and Charles Davis and sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis, June Davis and Becky Short.

Paul T. Henderson, age 61, of LaFollette passed away peacefully at the UT Medical Center on Monday, November 19, 2012. He loved his family and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a member of Mt. Paran Church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was recently baptized. He enjoyed going to church and praising the Lord.
Preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Elizabeth (Brandenburg) Henderson.

Leonard Preston Porter,
age 76 of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday,
November 17, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born
on February 28, 1936 in Illinois to the late Everette and Francis McBain Porter. Leonard was a faithful member of Longfield Baptist Church.
He loved collecting anything and everything. Leonard enjoyed working
cross word puzzles, fishing, going places with Tina and spending time
with family and friends especially his grandkids, who called him Papaw
Poker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife,
Anna Ruth Seiber Porter.

Sarah Wilhoit Nelson Cooper, age 100, of LaFollette passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Cumberland Village Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member at Mt. Paran Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, & great-great-grandmother that enjoyed life, spending time with her family, cooking, and quilting.
Preceded in death by her parents David & Nannie Wilhoit, husband W. H. Cooper, sons Rev Edgar and Elvin Cooper, daughter Ora Phillips, brothers Tom, Henry, Fred, Robert, and George Wilhoit, and sisters Mary Burris, Susie Wilhoit, and Katie Hatmaker.
Survived by her son William F. Nelson of LaFollette, daughter Carrie Ginn of Caryville, 14 grandchildren, and several great & great-great grandchildren.

Janie Lee Cordell Gaylor
Janie Lee Cordell Gaylor, age 73, of Jacksboro passed away Monday, November 12, 2012. Member of LaFollette First Baptist Church. When she was young, she drove fast cars and, was even known to have once totaled a new car of her fathers and left it in the road; only to get in the car with Floyd and drive away. She enjoyed riding the Harley with Floyd and going to the mountains in their jeep. Preceded in death by parents, Dennis & Violet Kidwell Cordell; brother, Kenneth Cordell.

Russell Tyler R.T. Sharp
Russell Tyler “R.T.” Sharp, age 68 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Lima, Ohio on February 15, 1944 to the late Russell and Elizabeth Martin Sharp. R.T. was a member of the Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville. He enjoyed working, and spending time with his family, especially his son and grandsons. R.T. was the owner of the Shoprite Grocery Store in Lake City.

Jerry Finley Braden, age 64 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Anderson County, TN to the late Noah and Hazel Bunch Braden. Jerry was U.S Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by, sisters; Billy Lamb and Betty Crowley.

HILGER, AXIE BLANCHE MONDAY - age 73, of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at LaFollette Medical Center. She enjoyed flower arranging, was a member of the Eastern Star, was a people person, and she loved her grandsons Herb, Josh, and TJ, and great-grandson Mason, and her family very much. Preceded in death by her parents Oscar Milton and Minnie Ethel (Heath) Monday, brothers Ross and James Monday, and sisters Nell McCarty and Margaret Lowe. Survived by her husband Donald Joseph Hilger of LaFollette, daughters Gloria Jean Howard of LaFollette and Karen Turner and husband Tom of Appleton, WI, sons Daniel Joseph Hilger of LaFollette and David Milton and wife Sherry of Springhill, TN, sister Madge Miller of LaFollette, grandsons Herb Goss, Josh Munnik, and Tom Turner, Jr., and great-grandson Mason Goss. Sheila Ann Richardson, age 64, of LaFollette passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at UT Medical Center. She enjoyed reading books, crafts, baking, being a leader of The Girl Scouts of America, spending time with her nieces & nephews, and she loved her family and her beloved dog Bo very much.
Survived by her parents Shields & Earnestine Richardson of LaFollette, brothers Tom of LaFollette, Jack and wife Kathy of LaFollette, Gerald of Knoxville, and Terrence & wife Darlene of Norris, several nieces & nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev Jack Carmichael officiating. Interment will be on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Bakers Forge Cemetery.

Paul Douglas (Doug) Draughn, age 39, of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member of the East LaFollette Baptist Church. He was a very loving nephew & cousin that was more like a brother. Doug enjoyed spending time shooting & collecting guns, spending time with his family, & cooking. He was a very affectionate person that thought more of others than himself, and devoted his time to taking care of Nanny. He will be greatly missed by Sis.

Janet Marie (Olvey) Lambdin, 57, of Powell, TN, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home. Janet is the daughter of James O. Olvey, Sr. and the late Helen Olvey, and granddaughter of the late Harley and Grace Ellison and the late Bert and Jimmie Lou Viola Olvey.
Janet graduated as the class salutatorian of her 1973 Jacksboro High School graduating class and attended the University of Tennessee where she graduated with honors and received her Bachelors of Sciences in Nursing, specializing in oncology. Janet was an avid reader, loved spending time on the lake, and especially loved her cats.
Preceded in death by her mother Helen Olvey.
Survived by her father James O. Olvey, Sr. of LaFollette, TN., brothers James O. Olvey, Jr. and wife Billie Jean of Jacksboro, George E. Olvey and wife Rebecca May of Clinton, and Thomas J. Olvey of Walland, nephews Dustin Olvey of Jacksboro, Zachary G. Olvey of Clinton, and Jake Olvey of Walland, niece Amber Michelle Olvey of Maryville, and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home in LaFollette with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Billy Smith officiating. Interment will immediately follow the services in the Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette, TN.
