James Franklin Heatherly
James Franklin Heatherly, age 87, of DaytonOhio,  passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012. Born February 10, 1925 in Demory, CampbellCounty TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Christine (nee Gilreath). He is survived by his son Larry (Bev), daughter Krista; his precious grandchildren Isaac, Jacob, and Lana; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his parents Thomas Jefferson Heatherly and Verdie Olive Heatherly (nee Bolinger); brother Elbert, sisters Mary, Margie, and Josephine.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., where the family will receive friends for one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in James’ memory to The Hospice of Miami Valley or to Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter.

William Harvey Frog Sharp
William Harvey “Frog” Sharp, age 79, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012.  He was born on August 9, 1933 in Anderson County to the late William Gordon and Sarah Ledford Sharp.  William was a maintenance technician for the Campbell Soup Company and retired with 32 and a half years of work service.  He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his sisters: Vivian Harmon and Barbara Brown.

James Harold Wells, age 64, of Jacksboro passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. He was a member of Solid Rock Church of God. He enjoyed watching Westerns, helping and spending time with his children & grandchildren, and walking & spending time with his dog Cocoa.
Preceded in death by his parents James & Phoebe (Baird) Wells, wife Sally Jean Wells, brother Hershal Wells, and nieces & nephews.
Survived by his son Wesley Wells of Jacksboro, daughter Anita Porter of Caryville, sisers Janice Botts of LaFollette and Carolyn Rucker of Jacksboro, and grandchildren Ryan Smith, Elizabeth Porter, & John Porter.

Elmer Paris Shoupe, age 72, of LaFollette passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. He was a loving husband of 49 years that enjoyed working in the coal mines, driving a truck hauling freight, farming, and flea marketing.
Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Betty Ann (Patrick) Shoupe, brothers Benjamin and James Clyde Shoupe, infant sisters Veniea, Essie, and Irean Shoupe, and sister Pauline Savage.
Survived by his sons Pearley Joe Shoupe & wife Jackie of Duff and Dennis Lee Shoupe of LaFollette, daughters Margaret Ann Hamblin & husband William and April Mechelle Jones & husband Russell all of LaFollette, sisters Grace Inman of Georgia, Lois Allen of Oregon, and Beulah Woodgeard of Ohio, and grandchildren Crystal Renee Hamblin, Jonathan Scott and Natasha Dawn Shoupe, and Heather Jean Hicks.

Tom Ford, age 68, of LaFollette passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents Henderson & Emely (Bailey) Ford and brother James Ford.
Survived by his sons Charles Thomas Ford, Jr. of LaFollette and Thomas J. Ford of Kentucky, daughters Emely Ford of LaFollette, Holly VanOver, & Tammy Creech both of Ohio, brothers Bill Ford and Ronnie Ford both of Kentucky, sisters Fay Facer, Brenda Ketterer, Pat Ford, & Penny Reynolds all of Kentucky, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several nieces & nephews, & a host of other relatives & friends who loved him.

Tammy Renea Brooks, age 45 of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at LaFollette Health and Rehab Center.  She attended LaFollete Church of God.  She loved her church and the Friday Morning Prayer Service.  She also enjoyed shopping, watching movies, and listening to music.  Preceded in death by grandfather, Mr. William Leon Tibbs, grandparents, Ed and Clarie Brooks, and uncle, Mr. Jim Brooks.

Bright and Eva Greenlee Bright, stepson, Donald Ray Hatmaker, and several brothers and sisters.

James Robinson
James Robinson, 56, of Caryville passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 22, 1955.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, swimming, joking and having fun.  His friends also knew him as Hambone and Wildman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kyle and Betty Robinson and his sister Teresa Robinson.

James loved the Lord and was a loving husband and father.  He had a great love for his grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, cousins and friends.  James loved the outdoors and was a craftsman by trade.  His joy of being a carpenter made him happy because his friend Jesus was a carpenter. She was born February 4, 1926 in Oliver Springs to the late Willie and Cora Lee Taylor Smith. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and being involved with the Boy and Girls Scouts. In addition to her parents, Irene is preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Cantrell.

Reverend Robert Lee Kennedy 

Rev. Robert Lee Kennedy,  age 80, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his residence.  He was born October 14, 1931 in Anderson County, Tn. to the late Mike and Laura Duncan Kennedy. Robert was a member of the Cumberland Mountain Missionary Baptist Church, formerly known as the Swag. He enjoyed reading his Bible, ginsenging, hunting, taxidermy, upholstering furniture, and spending time with his family and friends.  He pastored at Red Oak Baptist Church and Schultz Hollow Baptist Church.  He was an Army Veteran.  In addition to parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Donnie Kennedy, sisters, Ella Minge and Rosie Marlow, half brother, Earl Kennedy, and half sisters, Zella Carroll and Della Alden.

Ruby L. Christopher, age 90, of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. She was a member of the LaFollette Church of God. She was a very loving mother, grand, great, & great-great grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family and doing volunteer work helping others. Preceded in death by her parents Charles & Fannie (Lawson) Collett, husband Clyde Christopher, son Dallas Christopher, 4 sisters, and great-grandson Jeffrey Beck. Franklin Frank Overbey
Franklin "Frank" Overbey, 71, of Charlotte Harbor, Fla., passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 in Port CharlotteFla.  He was born Sept. 13, 1940 in LaFolletteTenn., to Edgar F. Overbey and Josie Belle Morton Overbey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joe Ann Dagley.
He is survived by his daughter, Trudy Overbey of Port Charlotte, and his son, Garry Overbey of Port Charlotte; his brother, Lewis (Carol) Overbey of Knoxville, Tenn., and two sisters Charlotte (Esco) Owens and Connie (Harold) Tackett, both ofCaryvilleTenn.
Frank graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in history and Spanish from Lincoln Memorial University and a master's degree in guidance education from Florida Atlantic University. In 1962, he came to Florida to teach Spanish and social studies atCharlotte High School, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Frank enjoyed being outdoors and spent much of his free time fishing when he first came to Florida. His favorite hobby, however, was beekeeping, which he enjoyed for many years.
Funeral service will be at 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 16th, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Jerry Dagley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6-8 pm. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 17th, 2012 in thePond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Demory Baptist Church.

Roscoe J. Martin,  age 92, of Lake City, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Summit View Health Care. He was  born March 19, 1920 in Anderson County, Tn. to the late  Al Prince Martin and Idella Cook Martin.  He was a member of the Clear Branch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, taught Junior Boys Sunday School class for many years, later taught an adult Sunday School class, and also went on several Disaster Relief Missions. Roscoe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  In addition to parents, Roscoe is preceded in death by his wife Demetra Martin, brother, Clifford  Martin, and  sisters, Lorene Abner and Flossie Hunley.
