William Barton Chapman, age 95 of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Golden Living (Windwood) Center in Clinton. He was born on October 19, 1917 in Campbell County, TN to the late Barton Elmer and Molly Adkins Chapman .Barton was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Barton is preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Chapman, and several brothers and sisters.

James Charles Wright, age 85, of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church. He was a very hard working man that spent most of his life taking care of his family & working the steel mill. He also loved going to church and singing gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents James & Ellen (Jones) Wright, wife Della Wright, and sisters Marie Duncan, Earlene Phillips, and Evvene Wright.
He is survived by his sons Charles Wright & wife Candy of Ft. Worth, TX, Danny Wright, Randy Wright & wife Alice of Jacksboro, and Kendall Wright & wife Sheila of AR, daughters Darlene Smith & husband Danny of Lorraine, OH and Tammy Hyslop & husband Bruce of Benton, AR, brothers Dow Wright & wife Deena of Jacksboro and Lawrence Wright of GA, sister Lula Watson of Jacksboro, 15 grandchildren, & 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm. Interment will be on Friday, February 8th, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Beech Fork Cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Elizabeth Sweat age 81 of LaFollette went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2013. She was a member of Fundamental Missionary Baptist Church. Bessie was a loving mother who was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking. Preceded in death by her husband, Silas Sweat, parents, Lewis Sharp and Minerva Sharp Wright, sister, Pearl Polson, and brother, Johnny Wright.
Survived by her son, Terry Sweat and wife Lorie, Daughters, Angleen Sweat Broyles, Kathleen Sweat Stagnolia, and Wanda Jane Sweat, all of LaFollette. Grandchildren, Keith Sweat, Misty Rose, Tiffany Broyles, Carrie Stagnolia, Briley and Brennan Sweat. Great-grandchildren, Skylar Cox, Haley and William Rose, Ansley Broyles, Jazmine and Jada Mitchell.
Funeral Services Thursday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Allen and Rev. Danny Orick officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday 10 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Fincastle Cemetery for graveside services and interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Gladys Carden Bradshaw, age 82,of Norris, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Methodist Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1930 in Campbell County, Tn. to the late Rev.David L.Phillips and Nora Posey Phillips. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norris. She enjoyed traveling, making afghans, quilting, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl E. Thomas Louise Davis, age 67 formerly of Clinton passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 after a brief illness at the home of his nephew Ralph and Kim Jones of Lake City. He was born August 2, 1945 in Devonia, Tennessee to Furden and Rachel Byrge Davis who are deceased. He was of the Baptist Faith. Thomas loved inventing and was a handyman, a jack of all trades, and a friend to all. He was loved by all. He is survived by his brother: A.Y. (Faye) Davis, his sisters, Alice Jones, Jane (John) Lane all of Clinton, Extra Special Friends Kathy Webber, Mary Kathleen Lee and Dot Taylor, all of Clinton, Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Numerous Friends.
Family wishes to thank Dr. Salaita and the UT Medical Center for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank UT Hospice for their excellent care, and to the caregivers Nephew Ralph Jones and Wife Kim for the wonderful care they provided to him.

Lucille Younker, age 87 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2013. She was born on February 20, 1925 in Lake City (Coal Creek) to Luke and Bertha (Hatmaker) Stansberry. She always proudly told about working in the “Secret City”, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where she participated in the making of the Atomic Bomb. She married her first husband, Andrew Foust and they moved to Toledo, Ohio where she remained the rest of her life. After Andrew’s death, she married Edward Younker and became a stepmother and a step grandmother. In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her sister Mildred Shingledecker, and her son, Sam Foust.

Mr. Raymond L. Adcock, age 80 of LaFollette passed away Monday, January 28, 2013. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW in West Carrollton, OH. Preceded in death by parents, Elias Adcock and Willie White Adcock, brothers, Calvin (Bus) Adcock and Jim Adcock, sister, Mary Teague, sisters-in-law, Alma Jean Adcock and Emma Sue Adcock, brother-in-law, Quinton Teague.
Survivors: Wife of 61 years Ella Brewer Adcock of LaFollette; daughter, Rayma Daugherty and husband, Mark of Jacksboro; grandson, Grant Daugherty of Jacksboro; brothers, Bill Adcock and Bob Adcock and wife, Ruby of LaFollette; special sister-in-law, Hazel Sumner.
