Burl McCurry age 78 of Lafollette passed away Saturday December 31, 2011 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Burl was of the Baptist Faith and Loved going to church when he was able. He was a very loving husband of 21 years. Loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Burl also enjoyed doing things in the outdoors like gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Proceeded in death by: Father Emmanuel McCurry and Mother Fannie Shackleford, Brothers: Rob McCurry, Armour McCurry, and Auther McCurry, Sisters: Ruby, Della, Jewell, Opal, and Agnus.
Survived by: Wife Frankie McCurry, Sons: Robby McCurry and wife Carole of Florida, Richard Schultz and wife Janet of Michigan, Daughters: Elizabeth Darlene Witt and husband Robert of Florida, Charlene Thomas and husband Daryl of Michigan, Linda Kay Chavous and husband Earl of Florida, Janet Socianu of Lafollette, Brother: Leroy McCurry of Rose Hill Virginia, Sister: Betty Dean of Virginia and Irene Gilbert of Lafollette. 14 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday January 3rd 2012 at 10:00am in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. David Hicks officiating, Interment will follow in the Powell Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Monday in Martin Wilson Chapel.

Mr. Bo Gunnar Christensen, age 71 of Speedwell passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011, at his home. He was a retired U.S. Navy Lt. Commander after 30 years of service and had been awarded many decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons for his meritorious service and gallantry.
Survivors: Wife, Charlene Christensen of Speedwell; 8 children; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Karin. Several other relatives and friends.

Bertha Elizabeth Bailey
Bertha Elizabeth Bailey, age 101 of Lake City , passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at NHC Healthcare in Oak Ridge . She was born August 17, 1910 in Campbell County to the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Nelson Cox. Bertha was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and was the oldest member there. She loved gardening, raising flowers and strawberries and being a mother. In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by Husband; Frank Bailey, Son; Odeva Bailey, Daughter; Cora Suttles, Great Grandson; Arick Chapman and three sisters and three brothers.

Phillip “Frank” Franklin Braden age 60, of Briceville, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born August 21, 1951 in Anderson County , Tennessee to the late Leo Francis and Beulah Duncan Braden. Frank was a member of Indian Bluff Baptist Church , in Briceville. He loved mechanicing, farming, gardening, canning, and working with his cattle. Frank is preceded in death by his father” Leo Braden, son: Phillip Leo Braden, grandparents: Cage and Nancy Belle Braden, and Byrd and Malinda Duncan.
