Velma Ruth Bahr, age 76, of Jacksboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Tennova Hospice in Halls. Velma was born on May 7, 1936 to the late Morton and Opal Harness Hatmaker in Anderson CountyTN. She was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church of Lafollette. Velma enjoyed quilting and crafts. She donated many of her handmade quilts to children. Velma will be dearly missed.
Velma is survived by
her husband of 25 years: Ralph Bahr; son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Terri Luke; daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Randy Yates; grandson: Dustin Luke Yates and girlfriend Kelli Kazmier; grandson Dakotah Jerimiah Luke; great granddaughter: Laila Isabella Luke; grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family in Wisconsin and Missouri; and special friends and family in Tennessee: Alice Tackett, Janet Kiser and Charles and Willa Luke.
The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:15 and go in funeral procession to the Campbell MemorialGardens for an 11:00AM interment. John Thomas Roberts
John Thomas Roberts, 41 of Lake City passed away suddenly July 30, 2012. He was a member of Lake City Christian Fellowship. He was preceded in death by father, Benny B. Roberts, Sr., Grandparents Blake and Edith Roberts and Tom and Verlie Smith. He is survived by Fiancee Sara Hill, Children: Zane, Dara, Seth, Trae and Aden Roberts of Lake City. Mother, Shirley F. Roberts of Jacksboro. Siblings, Sherree Phillips and husband Jackey, Kirtus Roberts and wife Shirley, Sheryl Phillips and husband Justin, Sue Kennedy, and Stephanie Clowers, all of Lake City, Sandra Marshall and husband Barry of Powell, Benny B. Roberts and wife Candie of Jacksboro. A host of nieces and nephews.
John was employed by Volunteer Trenching.  He loved to watch his children play sports.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Lake City Christian Fellowship (160 Straight Way-Lake City, TN 37769). The receiving of friends is from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm and the service to follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Justin Phillips officiating.
Friends and Family will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:15 am to go in procession to the Pine Hill Cemetery in Lake City for John’s interment.
