Arlie "Dock" Phillips

Arlie “Dock” Phillips age 83 of Caryville, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at his home. He was a loving Husband,  Dad & Papaw. Retired coal miner of 43 years and member of U.M.W.A. Preceded in death by infant Daughter Joann Phillips, Grandsons Michael Berry and Jeffery Ward, Parents Matthew & Mattie Seiber Phillips, 4 Brothers & Sisters.

Betty Louise Wood, age 75, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2021 at UT Medical Center. She was a member at Cumberland View Baptist Church for 62 years. She was also a member of the Campbell County Teacher’s Association for 50 years. She taught at Oak Grove, Vasper, Pinecrest, and then Jacksboro Elementary. She was the church pianist since she was 15 years old and was a piano teacher. She was youth director with her husband John for 40+ years. She was also the Vice President of Farm Bureau.

Preceded in death by her parents Fred & Ruby May (Hatmaker) Wilson, brother Jim Wilson, and sister-in-law Ruth Wilson.

Survived by her husband of 50 years John D. Wood of Jacksboro, sister-in-law Janice Wilson of Jacksboro, brother Rev Bobby Ray Wilson & wife Rose Lynn of Maryville, brother-in-law Clayton Wood of Jacksboro, nieces & nephews Eric, LeAnne, Brandi, Chelsey, Alyssa, Samuel, & Reagan, as well as other special nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Cumberland View Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 pm with Rev Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Cumberland View Cemetery.
