Mrs. Alla Faye Mefford, age 74 of Jacksboro passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at U.T. Medical Center.  She was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church.  Preceded in death by parents, Costo and Wonnie Byrd.

Survivors:  Husband, Herman Mefford of Jacksboro; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jeannie Mefford of Jacksboro; daughter, Penny Hamilton of MI; grandchildren, Drew, Amanda, Jeremy, and Melissa; brother, Lendon Byrd and wife, Brenda; sisters, Jean Williams and husband, J. C. and Barbara Daugherty and husband, Arlie.  Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Monday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Dupuy and Rev. Larry Russell officiating.  Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Mt. Paran Cemetery for graveside services and interment.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Ruby Lee Green 

Ruby (Buttram) Paul Green took the hand of sweet Jesus on Friday, January 18, 2013 to be reunited in Heaven with her loved ones who have gone before her.

Ruby was born on August 6, 1928 in Scott County Tennessee to Fred and Rebecca (Carson) Buttram and was the oldest of their ten children.

She is preceeded in death by her parents; husband and father of her children Hoyle Paul and Raymond Green. Infant son: Eddie Paul; Sisters: Princess Lowe and Althia Yancey and Brothers: Denzil Buttram and DJ Buttram. Grandchildren: Tammy Cross, Derrick Paul and Jimmy Webb: Sons-in-law: Leroy Sexton and Franklin Wallace.

Ruby is survived by her children who were the joy of her life: Ronnie Paul and wife Kathy, of Jacksonville, FL: Nella Faye Cross and husband Maynard of Oneida: Patricia Wallace of Caryville; Doris Jean Kennedy and husband Elbert of Lake City: Eugene Paul and wife Lillian of the Paint Rock community; Patsy Evans and husband Bill of Knoxville and Wanda Sexton of the Paint Rock community.
Siblings: Geraldine Lowe, James Buttram, Joey Buttram, Betty Yancey and Glen Buttram.
Grandchildren: Lisa Webb and son Matthew, Ronnie Lee Paul, Rick McCullah , Pam Gochenour and son Cason, Shonda Paul, Wayne McCullah and son Dusty and special grandson and care giver Chris Russell and daughters Macy and Lynlee.

Great-Great Grandsons Bently and Andrew.
Many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Victor Joey Cecil, age 49, of Lake City passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was a member of Charity Worship. He loved God & his family very much, especially his daughters & grandchildren. Victor had a great sense of humor, was a very hard worker, an honest person who always put others before himself, had a brilliant mind, & was very inspirational. 

He was preceded in death by his father Tony Cecil. 

He is survived by his step-father & mother Ted & Virginia Rogers of LaFollette, wife Dawna Cecil of Lake City, daughters Toni Marie Cecil Weltch & husband Bruce Weltch of Lake City and Kylie Anne Cecil & fiancé Jon Dodson of Lake City, brothers Jeffrey Cecil & wife Michelle Cecil of Jacksboro, brother-in-laws Keith & Tommy Slover of Winterhaven, FL, father & mother-in-law Tom & Louise Slover of LaFollette, grandchildren Ryleigh & Gabe Weltch, and a host of other relatives & friends. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21st, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev Harry James officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Helenwood Cemetery.

Elma Botts, age 89, of Louisville, KY passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Christopher East Nursing Home in Louisville. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, & friend. Elma was a very kind-hearted person who was loved by everyone she met and was often called an “angel on earth.” 

She was preceded in death by her parents Dennie & Bertha (King) Bridges, husband Oscar Botts, son Jerry Botts, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters. 

She is survived by her son Rick Botts & wife Chery of Louisville, daughters Earlene Taylor & husband Bob and Elsie Lobb & husband Dean all of Louisville, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 from 1:00 – 7:00 pm in the Martin Wilson Chapel. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 24th at 12:00 noon with Rev Harold Norman officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Stanfield Cemetery.
