Hazel Yvonne Lawson, age 78, of LaFollette passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the UT Medical Center. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, raising flowers, gardening, and hauling hay. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie & Pearl (Harness) Parks, husband Ben Lawson, brothers Othal, Owen, Arthur, Lawrence, & Ralph Parks, sisters Helen Cole, Edna McGhee, Ernestine Leach, and Thelma Trammel.

She is survived by her son Danny S. Lawson & wife Debra of LaFollette, daughters Kathy Shown & husband David and Sandra Thompson & husband Johnny all of LaFollette, sister Blanch Hutson of Winchester, TN, grandchildren Brad & Trent Shown, Travis Thompson, Meagan Welden, Aaron Lawson, Tommy, Cody, Anthony, & Marissa Lawson, great-grandchildren Peyton & Lawson Shown, Colie Thompson, Collen Welden, and Blaklyn Lawson.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Danny Lawson, Rev. Brad Shown, Aaron Lawson, and Donavon Welden officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Patti Sue Green age 71 of Jacksboro passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at LaFollette Medical Center. She was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Mother, Mary Leach Green; Brothers, Jerry Spradlin, Carl David Spradlin, Shirley Patton Spradlin, Jimmy Leach, Jackie Spradlin, and very special friend, Charlie Green.
Survivors: Son, Charles Stan Green of Jacksboro; Daughters, Susie Green Byrd and husband John, Tammy Green McCreary and husband Adam, and Tracy Green Hembree and husband Derrick, all of Clinton, TN; Seven Grandchildren; Sisters, Carolyn Baker and husband Bob, of Knoxville, Brenda Donaldson of Dickson, TN, and Pam Brazzell and husband Steve, of Charlotte, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Sunday 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Boyd Bingham III officiating. Family and friends will meet Monday 10:30 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and Proceed to Dewey Hill-Cumberland View Cemetery for 11 A.M. graveside services and interment. PARSONS, CLYDENE (PHILLIPS) - age 76 of Caryville, Tennessee, a loving and patient wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away quietly at home on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. She was born in Lawrence County, the city of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee on July 15, 1935, the daughter of Clarence Eugene and Lela Kay (Henson) Phillips. In the 1940's, the family moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she had a career at the former Michigan Bell Telephone and Bendix Aerospace in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Clydene married her love, E.J. Parsons on June 21, 1952. Their strong marriage lasted for more than 53 years and together they raised three loving daughters. Upon retirement, they relocated to East Tennessee, where she enjoyed many hours on Norris Lake. She loved to garden and her home was surrounded by many beautiful flowers that attracted a variety of birds, including her favorite hummingbirds. She was a member of the Church of Christ since 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother. She is survived by three daughters: Sheree Ann (Bob) Sims of Melrose, Florida, Deanna Kay (Scott) Porter of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Brenda Sue (Kevin) Chaves-Torres of Knoxville, Tennessee, five grandchildren: Angela Dawn (Cris) Gonzales of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jason Matthew (Laken) Sims of Alachua, Florida, Deven Cesar Chaves-Torres of Knoxville, Tennessee, Amanda Rae Burby of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Andr'ea Olivia Porter of Ypsilanti, Michigan, six great-grandchildren: Antonio DeMarco and Gabriel Giovanni Gonzales of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Evanna Clydene Sims of Alachua, Florida, MaKayla Rose Stumbo, David William Scott and Joshua George Burby, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, two sisters Gladys (Victor) Schwartzenberger of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Patricia Kay Phillips of Tecumseh, Michigan, one brother John Turner (Jay) Phillips of Saline, Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the chapel at 2PM with Kermit Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Isaac Parsons Cemetery in Floyd County Kentucky at 2:00PM. Donations may be made to Covenant Hospice Services or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
