Mrs. Betty Lou Rutherford, age 82, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Garland Rutherford, sister Wanda Stump, and brothers Bob Rutherford and Calvin Rutherford. Betty traveled the world and made her home in The Philippines, Germany, France and several different locations in the US. She loved people and her family with all of her being. Betty enjoyed league bowling, playing rook with the family, and bingo. She professed her faith in Jesus at a young age and is now with her family in heaven.
She is survived by her brother Garland, nieces Faith (Danny) McCullah, Hope (Rance) Tillotson, and nephew Dean (Susie) Dillon. Great nieces Megan McCullah, Charity Tillotson, Great nephew Cody McCullah, and other family and friends. The most special person in Betty's life was her great nephew, Cody McCullah. She loved Cody as if he was her own child. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Summit View of Lake City for their tender care and patience.
A private graveside service will be held with Cody McCullah officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Adventures in Missions c/o Cody McCullah 2610 Kensington Alley, Gainesville, GA 30504. Mr. Dennis Ray “Denny” Sharp age 60 of LaFollette passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home. Mr. Sharp was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Father, James Sharp.
Survivors: Daughter, Melissa Weldon and husband Preston, of Ila, GA; Granddaughter, Courtney Weldon of Ila, GA; Mother, Margie Sharp Chapman of LaFollette; Brothers, James Sharp Jr. and wife Carol, of Richmond, VA, and Larry D. Sharp of LaFollette; Sister, Brenda Andrews and husband Mitch, of Caryville. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and Interment Wednesday 1 P.M. at Campbell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Arnold Burress officiating. Military Honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Larry Keith Smiddy, age 57, of Clinton passed away Monday, April 02, 2012. He was of the Methodist faith. US Airforce veteran and retired after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Harley & Faye Smith Smiddy; niece Lori Smiddy Davis.
