Clifton “Snuffy” Ward passed away July 10, 2012 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born June 29, 1943 in the Beechfork Community. He was a member of the Nicks Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, racing, going ginsenging, but mostly he loved spending time with his grandbabies.
Preceded in death by his parents Charlie & Mary Ward, step-mother Nora Ward, mother-in-law Cordelia Kennedy, son Larry Wayne, sisters Ruth Cross & Jennifer Sharpe, brothers L.M., R.P., Virgil, Brion, & Charles Ward.
Survived by his loving wife of 46 years Lillian Ward, sons Randy of Jacksboro, Jeff of Lenoir City, Jamie and Curtis of Jacksboro, daughters Mary Weaver & husband Scott of Jacksboro, and Amanda Smith of Milton, FL, brothers Thomas Ward & wife Lorene of Caryville, Dillon Ward & wife Marlessa of Fairview, Wendall Cross & wife Ruby of Lenoir City, sisters Maxine McFarland of Dunkirk, IN and Margaret Burress of LaFollette, brother-in-laws Odell Cross, Don Ford, and Ken Kennedy of Huntsville and Jerry Lowe of GA, sister-in-laws Brenda Ward Osborne of Elk Valley and Virgie Ford of Huntsville, grandchildren Gabby, Nicole, Bridgett, Tyler, Cameron, Jalen, Kaylee, and Adalynn, great-granddaughter Kylie, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends, and special friends Rick Nelson, Dean Chambers, and Bert Hatmaker, and Gary Miracle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 13, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev John Hunley, Rev Adam Hunley, and Rev Keith Massengale officiating. Interment will follow the service in the River View Cemetery.
