Dorothy Faye Snodderly Taylor, age 77 of Powell, passed away at her nieces residence on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. She was born January 18, 1935 in Blue Diamond, KY to the late Harvey and Dinah Pratt Snodderly. Dorothy attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, husband, Clyde E. “Dink” Taylor; grandparents, Granny and Pap Snodderly; sisters, Arthorine McDaniels Wilson and Wilma Snodderly Miles; nephew, M. Steve Miles; niece, Leanna Tackett.

Survivors:  

Sister              Patricia  “Peachie” Falor and husband, Jack                    Cleveland, OH

Numerous nieces, nephews and friends that loved her dearly.                                                                                

Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.

Funeral Service: 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lane and Bro. Scott Martin officiating.

Friends and Family will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 to go in procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery for Dorothy’s 11:00 a.m. interment.

Mary Lou Vinsant Sharp, age 97 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012.  Member of 1st Presbyterian LaFollette & later attended Faith Home Mission Knoxville.  Preceded in death by husband, Elbert Monroe Sharp; son, James Elbert Sharp; grandson, David Hendricks; sisters, Anna Mae Denton, Ellen Fay Daugherty, Burnettia Davis; brothers, Jerry, Edgar Lee, Gaston & Stewart Vinsant.

Son:  Hugh C. Sharp

Nell Powers Wright died Wednesday, December 26, 2012.   Mrs. Wright was aCampbell County school teacher for 29 years where she taught all elementary school grades.  She was born in JacksboroTennessee in 1925 to Larry C. Powers and Mary Agnes Clotfelter Powers.  After graduating from Central High School in Jacksboro she travelled to New York City where she worked as a model with the John Robert Powers agency for a short time before returning to Tennessee to attend EastTennessee State University.  She married Dudley Victor Wright of LaFollette in 1945 and received a B.S. degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 1958.  Mrs. Wright was a charter member of the Knoxville Chapter of Daughters of the Nile, an international fraternal organization that serves as a social and charitable organization and works to raise money for the Shriners Hospital for children.  She was a member of the East TN Education Association, National Education Association, and the First Baptist Church of LaFollette.  She lived in Jacksboro and LaFollette for 78 years before moving to Knoxville in 2002 to be near her daughter.  For the past 3 1/2 years, she was a resident of the Brakebill Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister June Powers Bivens.  She is survived by her daughter Sharon Wright Cottrell and husband Brad, two grandchildren Jason Cottrell and wife Angela and Suzanne Cottrell Christensen and husband Jeff, four great grandchildren Katie, Kenzie, Jake, and Olivia Cottrell all of Knoxville, two nephews David and Eric Bivens of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and brother William Barton Powers of Limestone, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2012 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette with funeral services following at 2:00 pm in the Cross-Smith Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Duane Mills officiating.  Interment will be at Jacksboro Cemetery following the service.

Mrs. Mary Marie Ivey Leach formerly of Speedwell, born May 22, 1931, went to be with the Lord December 26, 2012. She was preceded in death by husband of 47 years, Hubert Leach, and son, Michael; parents, Mack and Eliza Ivey; brothers, Clyde, Vernon, James, Porter, Bill, Everette, and Fred; sisters, Gertie and Gladys. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Marie lived her entire life in the Flat Hollow Community of Campbell County. Most recently, she enjoyed life living near her son at Patriot Park Assisted Living in Oak Ridge.

She is survived by beloved son, Julis and wife Cindy; granddaughters, Shannon Leach and Fiancé Warren Amos, Julie Leach Wooten and husband Dusty, their children, Ethan, Tyler, Logan, and Ben; grandsons, Jordan Young and Daniel Leach; sister, Edith Walden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Savannah.

Funeral Services Friday 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Jack Goins officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday 10 A.M. at Leach Cemetery for graveside services and interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Friday before funeral services. Marie loved helping others and in keeping with her desire for helping others, the family would like to honor her by requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her memory to: Campbell County Cancer Association, P.O.
