Lewis Tackett, age 66 of Lake City, Tennessee, received his summons to appear in the presence of His most High God on December 27, 2012. He was born on April 25, 1946 in Anderson County to the late Conda and Mary Alice Duncan Tackett. Awaiting him there was his beloved daughter, LeeAnn, who preceded him in death in 1988. Lewis was a chairman of the deacon board and an active member and Sunday school teacher for many years at Fratersville Baptist Church. He had a special love for the church and its congregation. Lewis was an avid bible reader who enjoyed antique cars, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents and daughter, Lewis is preceded in death by his brothers: Arvil, Clarence, and Carl Tackett, his brothers-in-law: Goldman Kennedy, Gene Pyles, Aaron Duncan, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Dewey and Arthorine Wilson.

Mr. Tackett’s interment will follow his funeral service on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Marie Ivey Leach formerly of Speedwell, born May 22, 1931, went to be with the Lord December 26, 2012. She was preceded in death by husband of 47 years, Hubert Leach, and son, Michael; parents, Mack and Eliza Ivey; brothers, Clyde, Vernon, James, Porter, Bill, Everette, and Fred; sisters, Gertie and Gladys. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Marie lived her entire life in the Flat Hollow Community of Campbell County. Most recently, she enjoyed life living near her son at Patriot Park Assisted Living in Oak Ridge.
She is survived by beloved son, Julis and wife Cindy; granddaughters, Shannon Leach and Fiancé Warren Amos, Julie Leach Wooten and husband Dusty, their children, Ethan, Tyler, Logan, and Ben; grandsons, Jordan Young and Daniel Leach; sister, Edith Walden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Savannah.
Funeral Services Friday 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Jack Goins officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday 10 A.M. at Leach Cemetery for graveside services and interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Friday before funeral services. Marie loved helping others and in keeping with her desire for helping others, the family would like to honor her by requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her memory to: Campbell County Cancer Association, P.O. Louis B. Struckman, age 87, recently of Dillsboro, Indiana, and long-time resident of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away December 27, 2012 at one of his daughter’s homes in Tennessee. He worked at Aurora Casket Company 11 years and Stedman Foundry in Aurora for 33 years. Born and raised in Aurora, he would have graduated in 1945, but instead enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. As a turret ball gunner, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Gold Star in lieu of a second Distinguished Flying Cross, for his bravery in the Pacific Fifth Fleet. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leona; daughters Roberta and husband J.W. Smith of Pontotoc, Mississippi; Patricia and husband Rick Elliott of Andersonville, Tennessee; Connie and husband Martin Kraus of San Diego, California, along with 9 grandchildren , several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded by all 8 siblings and parents, Florence (nee Goodpaster) and Frank Struckman. Visitation will be at the Aurora Baptist Church, 600 Daugherty Road, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with graveside services immediately after at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. The family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the VFW in Aurora, Indiana.
